Product Features
1. Before operation, measure the outside diameter, thickness, and required pulling distance of the component to be removed.
2. Where space permits, use the 3-jaw configuration whenever possible to provide a more secure grip and more evenly distributed pulling force.
3. Always select a puller with the correct capacity. If the component cannot be removed at the puller’s maximum rated force, use a higher-capacity hydraulic puller.
4. As a general reference, approximately 7–10 tons of pulling force may be required for each 1 inch of component bore diameter, depending on the fit and application conditions.
5. Always use an appropriate protective safety cover or safety blanket over the workpiece during pulling operations. High pulling forces may cause brittle components, such as cast-iron pulleys, to fracture and create flying debris hazards.
6. Apply pulling force gradually and steadily. Do not attempt to accelerate removal by adding extension bars or applying additional external leverage to the puller.
7. Use standard-length jaws whenever possible, as excessively long jaws may reduce the effective pulling capacity of the hydraulic puller.
