Heavy-Duty Super Nuts

描述

Working Principle
All Super Nut products share a similar structural design and operating principle. A large axial preload is divided into a number of smaller forces and applied through multiple jackbolts arranged around the nut body. By tightening the jackbolts symmetrically and sequentially, the thread-mechanical advantage converts relatively small tightening torques into a large axial preload on the bolted joint.
As the circumferentially distributed jackbolts are tightened, they apply a strong and uniform axial force to the hardened washer, thereby preloading the main nut body and bolt. The required preload can be accurately controlled using a precision torque wrench.
Product Advantages
Allows large-diameter bolts to be accurately preloaded without hydraulic bolt tensioners, torque multipliers, or hydraulic torque wrenches.
Can directly replace conventional nuts in many applications.
Particularly suitable for field operations, flammable and explosive environments, highor low-temperature conditions, and locations where electrical, pneumatic, or hydraulic power is limited or unavailable.
Simple maintenance helps reduce equipment downtime and makes the system suitable for both equipment designers and maintenance personnel.
The cost advantage becomes increasingly significant as bolt diameter increases. For larger bolts, conventional hydraulic torque wrenches and bolt tensioners generally become heavier, larger, and more expensive.
Particularly suitable for applications involving large-diameter threads, high preload requirements, fatigue-sensitive bolted joints, anti-loosening requirements, controlled preload, and mediumto low-frequency maintenance operations.
Anti-Loosening Performance
With proper joint design and sufficient preload, additional locking measures can often be minimized. Even under frequent vibration, sufficient clamping force helps maintain joint integrity and reduce the risk of loosening.
Improved Fatigue Strength
Fatigue failure in threaded fasteners often begins at the first few engaged threads where stress concentration is highest.
The Super Nut design helps redistribute the load and reduce localized stress concentration, shifting and spreading the high-stress region over a larger portion of the thread engagement. This can improve the overall fatigue strength and service life of the bolted connection.
